Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder)
This training aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of eating disorders and their historical evolution. It presents key psychoanalytic theories and explores these disorders from a psychoanalytic perspective, along with their classification in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) and the neurobiology of hunger and satiety.
The training includes a detailed presentation and interpretation of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder, linking them to psychoanalytic concepts such as Freud’s drive theory and the oral stage, Klein’s object relations and internal conflicts, and Hilde Bruch’s theory of identity, autonomy, and interoceptive awareness. It also addresses the neurobiological dimension of these disorders.
